Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew is a real-time stealth strategy game set in a fantastical version of the Caribbean during the Golden Age of Piracy. These islands, filled with mystery and wonder, are home to pirates, drifters, and all kinds of odd folk—but the forces of the Inquisition have set their sights on the islands you call home. They will stop at nothing to eradicate your kind as they search for a powerful pirate artifact buried somewhere in the region. Recruit and lead an undead pirate crew aboard your ghost ship, outwit your enemies, strike from the shadows with blades and sorcery, and save your people.
Take command of an infamous pirate ship and assemble its cursed crew as you battle the Inquisition across the many islands of the region. Choose when and whom to recruit from among eight undead crew members—they are waiting to be revived! There are no wrong choices, though your crew composition will shape your journey across the islands, your unique experience throughout the narrative campaign, and which abilities you can rely on at any given moment.
Each of the 8 crew members possesses their own unique supernatural powers and a somewhat unhinged personality—use them to your advantage in clever and creative ways to overcome obstacles and eliminate enemies. Will you use Gaëlle and her magical cannon to launch companions over walls and chasms? Or rely on Mr. Mercury’s ability to bypass obstacles from below? Or perhaps possess an enemy guard with Von Presswald and use him to open doors while the rest of your crew slips through unnoticed? Use these and other abilities individually and in combination, play with timing, and orchestrate intricate maneuvers and attacks against overwhelming odds.
Mix and match your crew’s abilities and discover your preferred playstyle among the countless synergies you can experiment with against the Inquisition. Each ability is designed around specific archetypes focused on manipulating movement, operating behind enemy lines, hiding the bodies of eliminated enemies, or delivering deadly precision strikes. The number of crew members you can bring on a mission is limited, so choose carefully—not only based on their strengths, but also their limitations.
