Meridiem Games is excited to announce that the special PlayStation 5 boxed limited edition of sci-fi thriller Fort Solis is now available across European specialist retail stores. Developed by Fallen Leaf and Black Drakkar Games and published by Dear Villagers, Fort Solis takes players on a terrifying psychological journey set on an isolated mining facility on Mars. Players must solve the mystery of the missing crew and discover the secrets that lie deep within the compound. But will they survive the night?
Meridiem Games is responsible for the design and manufacture of the PlayStation 5 physical edition of Fort Solis, which will be on sale in specialist stores throughout Europe. The limited edition physical version will contain a special 3D cover and an exclusive metallic effect postcard.
The story begins with engineer Jack Leary responding to a distress signal from the neighbouring Mars mining facility Fort Solis, located seep within the desolate desert of the red planet. Faced with imminent sandstorm warnings, Jack ventures inside to establish contact with the crew only to find himself alone and the base seemingly abandoned. As the night grows longer, events escalate, spiral out of control and the mystery of what happened to the crew begins to reveal itself. The storms arrive, limiting Jack’s escape as he looks to hold out until morning arrives.
Immersive storytelling
Fort Solis aims to offer a high-fidelity experience designed to fully immerse the player in the cast and its long night. With performances by Roger Clark, Troy Baker, and Julia Brown, Fort Solis seeks to convey emotion, fear, empathy, and much more in each chapter.
As a support to the main narrative, additional instances of the story are included, such as audio logs, surveillance images, or events from the past and present. Accompanying them are video recordings made by the entire team, detailing events before and perhaps even after that night when the alarm went off at Fort Solis…
Exploring Fort Solis
The skeleton of Fort Solis is built above and below ground. The base contains a variety of locations, each with its own surface and underground levels. Players can explore the isolated surface enduring storms, the eerie service tunnels devoid of light, or the multiple departments that help the daily functioning of Fort Solis, such as Engineering, Medicine, and Communications.
As the story develops, places can be easily revisited to obtain additional context or to continue serving as a backdrop to the fate that awaits Jack with each passing hour.
The boxed limited edition of Fort Solis for PlayStation 5 is out now across European specialist retailers.
